This is the signal we need to analyze, so it is supressed by two antiparallel diodes and passed to an operational amplifier . After amplification, the analog signal is read by one of analog input of Raspberry Pi Pico board and is analized by the software. -

By leveraging a microcontroller RS232 port as both a modulation source and detector, it is possible to make a simple proximity or through beam type sensor for very little cost. A special bit pattern is used to eliminate any DC component in the RS232 signal making it compatible with the IR receiver. -
