In browser downloads using FROX the client gets no
progress of the download from the server to the FROX
proxy. Most of my users terminate the download
prematurly because they do not realize that FROX has to
download the file, scan it for viruses and then pass it
to them. It would be nice to have a browser progress
page that notifies the user that the file is being
downloaded and scanned for viruses....please be patient.

Enhance access log ability

- Log DOWNLOAD URI to another separate file instead of
mixing with other comman issues, just like squid.
- Log DOWNLOAD URI in some common format, so the log
can be analysed by some log-analysing tools, SARG, for
example.

If frox is configured to log to a file instead log
through syslog directly, then after newsyslog or
logrotated automatically rotate that log file, frox can
still log to that file, just like squid.

URL scanning on connect

Scan URL in URLCategorization engines when FTP
client connects to FTP proxy.
It may execute the same executable for virus scanning
with same parameters, but executable will ignore the
scan filename that is not actually in this case.

Details:
- FTP client connects to FTP proxy
- FTP client send USER command with requested FTP
server name (e.g. ftp.playboy.com).
- Frox call to scan executable with same parameters as
virus scanner, but with empty string scan filename
- If executable returns VSOK Frox continue the session
with FTP client, otherwise it send client some error
message and close the connection

I use frox with squid. I want control frox ftp users
with ACL from squid. I want use squid patch
http://devel.squid-cache.org/follow_xff/index.html
Follow X-Forwarded-For headers.
At present, frox pass download request even if deny
rule for this ip apply in squid.

Add extra parameters to VirusScanner

Hi,

I have added extra two parameters that passed to
VirusScanner executable.
The parameters are:
%i - client ip address
%u - client username

I see it usefull, so may be you will add this code to
permanent version ?

I am attaching file with patch. The add-on code starts
with PATCH_START and ends with PATCH_END
comments.

support of multiple FTP forward proxies

frox can forward FTP request to another proxy using the
directive FTPProxy.
But if the next proxy is down, no connection is possible.

The ability to define multiples FTPProxy lines in the
config file and frox try each one until one work before
failed the connexion would imporve the availibility of the
FTP proxy chain.
