For Serial the specification only supports 0 (broadcast) - 247. Addresses 248 to 255 are reserved and shouldn't be used. In TCP mode you specify the IP address that the slave should receive on (e.g. 127.0.0.1). But if I export and import the register setup then my master will receive read errors with error code 1 (invalid function) This is very similar to the one described here: https://sourceforge.net/p/modbuspal/discussion/899955/thread/308caa9a/ It seems like the import would remove the default functions.
