(import, export of h.264 streams aso...) plus there
also is a "h264.exe" tool, which analyses raw h.264 streams

would be great if these features could be incorporated
into the latest mp4ui :)

import/export of .mp4 files

i dunno if this is already possible with mp4creator, but,
as mp4ui doesnt offer a "save as" option, it would be
great if it would be possible to save single streams
inside .mp4 (without having to simple delete all streams
from the source .mp4, which isnt really a good solution)
and not only as raw bitstreams
thats especially important for he-aac streams, which
have a sbr flag stored on the container level, which gets
lost if exporting to .aac (as adts isnt defined for holding
this sbr flag), but also of course for single video
streams, or normal audio streams, as as good as all aac
players currently support aac-in-mp4 only and not the
raw .aac bitstreams

also it would be great, if it would be possible to import
from .mp4 directly and not only raw bitstreams

thanks :)

Adding/Editing of nero-style Chapters in udta atom

as you mabye already know the mp4 container is missing
an important feature which other containers like
matroska or ogm offer:
chapters

of course its possible to create chapters via mpeg-4
systems, but this needs an own systems encoder which
maybe is an overkill for such a task and also doesnt
really exist atm for dshow, which most people still use

therefore the guys from ahead created some private
chapter information which they add in the udta atom
(user stuff)
currently the nero recode2 encoding tool sets this
chapter info in mp4, 3ivx is working on adding this feature
playback works with the nero and 3ivx dshow filter
already and with the firmware of the upcoming new
sigmadesigns mpeg-4 decoder chip (according to ahead)

basically my feature request would be to ask you if it
maybe would be possible to add the function to mp4ui to
allow adding such chapters, editing of these or at least
the display of these

thanks :)

non mpeg-4 stream detection / subtitles and chapters support

till the 0.95 version mp4ui was able to detect non mpeg-
4 streams in mp4, which isnt possible anymore

this feature is important because the new prog "nero
recode2" adds picturesubs directly from the dvd to mp4
as an own track with a private track ID
0.95 was able to detect these subtitle tracks, but the
new 1.0 versions are not

it would be great if that feature could be readded again!

also it would be even more nice, if mp4ui could also
support muxing subtitles the same way as nero to a mp4
file. its allowed in the mpeg-4 specs to add non mpeg-4
streams to mp4 with private track IDs
also you maybe want to have a look at the way how
nero stores chapters in mp4 (by using the udta atoms),
this could be also implemented in mp4ui perhaps if you
have the interest

i think these both features are nice and important
because the mpeg-4 specs lack easy support for
subtitles and chapters atm
