When looking at deploying this I wanted to delpoy it to a multi-user environment and ended up changing the way it parses from the configuration file such that instead of changing the field if it equalled %username% it changed all references to %username% by using
sConf = sConf.replace('%username%', getpass.getuser ())

I would suggest building this into your next release.

Would it be possible to set the mail configurations then somehow repack it to email (or download). That way it can be sent to someone and run as a troubleshooting tool.

Panic Button for Linux?

I would like to see a panic button for Linux.

would it be possible to make the info that you put into the email section be stars or password protected because you give your information to your customer to use your email servers for what they want like spam

can maybe place a button on that page that changes the info to stars.

Hi A friend of mine sent me a link to your software.
This is something I have been looking for myself and I
have recently asked a friend of mine to look into
writing something like this. So this is something I
have given quite a bit of thought.

Some of the features I would like to see.

A list of problems people are having along the lines
of a task list. so when you are in the office next you
can see what they have been struging with as people
always say I had a problem but cant remember what it
was.(an email to the predefined address would be cool
to notify me)

A shortcut to remote support software VNC etc. to be
defined by support person.

an IM feature would be cool so they can send help
requests to me directly.

Support for internationalisation

As a support tool, I would like to see the "Panic
Button" to also support various languages - the user
is already irritated by the error he's trying to
report, obviously he now wants clear instructions in
a language he understands on what to do next, that
is: after he hits the "Panic Button".

A config file entry would be nice to specify the
language, plus some "lang-en.cfg" file containing the
current English prompts, I would then offer myself to
create an initial "lang-de.cfg" for a German
translation, I'm sure others will help with their
respective native language too.

- the log file does not provide many details (to
allow debugging). It should log
-> to different log depending upon config file
-> more details, such as
- which config file is currently being used
- what SMTP parameters
(server/port/user) are being used
- results of SMTP requests
- log if config file is successfully
opened or not (found UNC file naming on command-line
confusing).
- date/time stamps on each entry
