It seems an earlier version was still the default downoad version. Please update vido either by "git pull" or by downloading the new version from sourceforge and running install.sh.

We couldn't replicate the error on our side, we queued the urls and they worked fine (video attached). Vido has 2 components the gui and the backend script youtube-dl.
try updating vido first by opening the terminal in the vido directory and running git pull
next from vido menu run "update youtube-dl".
if it still doesn't work check the output of the file /tmp/vido.txt
you can double check the version of youtube-dl using the command "youtube-dl --version"

I hope you were using the .zip file for installation.

Try the following to troubleshoot

Check if the file vido.desktop was created in ".local/share/application" in your home directory.
you can do so by running the command ls ~/.local/share/applications/
If it doesn't exist run install.sh from inside the unzipped folder, do not worry running the file multiple times will not adversely effect the system in any way.
If the file exists then run it either by double clicking it from the file manager or through the command
". ~/.local/share/applications/vido.desktop" (mind the space between the first "." & "~"). If a popup appears that asks you to mark the file as trusted, please do so.
logout and login back to see if vido appears in your menu
In extremely rare cases if to fails to create a menu item, please create a desktop launcher for the same with the command "python3 <path vido.py="" to="">/vido.py"</path>

Have created a problem installing Vido.
MintOS menu shows in as in attacthment.
Folder exists, Synaptic shows only youtube-dl

Any clues?

The error occurs because the default version of python in your distro is python2. Fixed it in the latest release, kindly update/download latest release.
