My compliments to those who give their time and energies to developing this project.
I have used these for about a year and a half. Prior to that, I had no idea how to configure anything inside the players i used. I like the capacity to fine tune the output/ picture of a vid or movie as well as managing aspects of audio. I have lots of very old movies in all formats - that need i to adjust (as much as possible)to be able to see and hear them well.
I wish I knew enough to be able to help with this project ,but i am just learning how to use the tools. I have never posted anything nor asked for support, so have no idea what had been going on with the project. I only saw there was no development on it for a long time. this is the first thing i saw anything at all happening since i began to use ffdshow after 3/13.
I forgot to note that ffdshow is the codec i use for all my video/movie watching. I use MPC-BE svn in 32bit with madVr87.10 currently. I own, bought that is PowerDVD13 ultra but dont use it anymore, not since I found out how to use Ffdshow and MPC-HC, then MPC-BE. I use the MPC-BE x64. I installed ffdshow to use in be but use LAV splitter and I have no trouble playing all kinds of video formats from avi to wmv and all the letters in between

After installing ffdshow, my windows media player is still unable to play flv files. What is wrong? The pop-up window states that the selected file has an extension (.flv) that is not recognized by WMP but the Player might still be able to play it. Because the extension is unknown by the Player, you should be sure the file comes from a trustworthy source. Do you want the Player to try to play this content? And when I clicked YES; another pop-up states : The player might not support the file type or might not support the codec that was used to compress the file. Now what do I do?

Awesome application, Can ask (F11) to "full screen" mode in specific monitor or TV (HDMI). Simple. Good job guys!

(Throw out the 'has been discontinued' version of 12-10-2004 ...) Good stuff indeed. (My recently preferred video/audio-compression: Vid: H/X264 with certain compressionlevels and imgmeasures, Au: MP3 Lame 128/44/joint stereo - AVI-container). ffdshow is very advisable for those (the many) who don't know anymore which video contains what and how to view/edit it. Be it private or commercial. Editing tool: VirtualDub (no WMV/ASF!). We will see what tomorrow brings? Again sth else I guess?!

the best & greatest filter i have ever used, especially for watching highdef anime with embedded subtitle streams (mkv)

This filter is easily the best I have ever used. Not only can it play far more video/audio formats that I have ever seen (or for that matter ever will see, most likely), but it also comes with a rich set of post-processing/playback-tweaking functions, that make FFdshow the king of filters. The VFW filter is also quite awesome.

This is great on older versions of windows (Pre 7) that cant play most video formats.

Excellent decoder to use with a lightweight player such as MPC-HomeCinema. I'm very happy that this project and it's 64 bit cousin are being supported again.

Great performance and non bloated codec pack. In combination with Haali's Matroska Splitter, it covers all your directshow decoding needs, and several encoding too.
